○ ANDREJ KIBISOV’s set of postcards
|
"My whole life is a fairy-tale."
"All my world is a gallery."
"Silence does exist. You simply have to know where to seek it."
Andrej is a homeless artist, guide and story-teller. A resident of Vilnius, Andrei Kibisov is known in the streets of the capital by the nickname of “Monach” (“the Monk”). “As a child, I used to carry my few personal items in a backpack - just like a monk who always carries his scarce belongings with him - wherever he goes. I had exactly the same experience,” reflects Andrei. We met him in the international Lithuanian and British art project “Padainuok man labanakt“ (Sing me to Sleep). In this project, which celebrates creative work made by people experiencing poverty and homelessness, Andrej took photos with a tape camera. This unique set of postcards is a result of his visual research in Vilnius.
